The Seven Step Anti aging Skin Care Guide

Someone once told me that wouldn't be great if there is a way to switch off our aging gene. I believe many of us aren't afraid of growing old, afterall, there are many advantages to growing old. You have gain more experience about life, you feel more assured about yourself. Perhaps what most of us are afraid is the effect of aging. The aches, pains and illnesses that crept quietly and increasingly upon us especially after 40.

One obvious signs of aging is our skin. The largest organ in our body often show signs of the aging process and it is even more prevalent when we consistently overwork our body.

I found this interesting and informative article on anti aging skin care. I agree with the author that we can slow down the aging process with proper diet, exercise and sufficient rest. Couple with natural supplements such as Reseveratrol ( a powerful antioxidant found in grapes and berries), anti aging can be enhanced as it will help slow down aging and repair aging cells in our body.

The Seven Step Anti Aging Skin Care Guide
By Bobby Lynn Jekos

We all age. But some of us do it better than others. While some people who "never grow old" are blessed with skin that just doesn't age, most of them enjoy the younger look because they take care of themselves. Here's a quick anti aging skin care guide.

Sleep
Get enough of it. We now know there is a direct link between sleep deprivation and prematurely aging skin. If you got at least 7 hours every night, the puffiness under your eyes would significantly reduce and wrinkle lines would recede.

Eat properly
An obvious step in any anti aging skin care guide but nevertheless, it never ceases to amaze at how many people don't make the connection between healthy skin and good diet. Avoid junk with high sugar and high oil content. Go after foods with lots of antioxidants like fruits (especially berries) and raw vegetables. Free radicals are a normal biological process but with age this process increases which damages skin cells. Antioxidants fight free radicals. Eat properly and damaged skin will repair itself.

Heard about the powerful antioxidant called Reseveratrol ? It is found in grapes and berries.Resveratrol is known to slow down the aging process and help repair aging cells in our body.

Exercise
One of the benefits of exercise is that it gets the blood flowing through your veins. Including your face. Our skin capillaries actually contract and clog with age. Exercise increases blood flow and causes capillaries to dilate. More blood means the body can bring more essential nutrients to all layers of your skin.

Sun
Moderation is the key. Sun is good because it allows us to naturally absorb vitamin D. But it's also bad because it causes skin damage. The key is balance - but prolonged sun tanning or facial exposure isn't balance. Don't stay in the shade, but use sun screen. Excessive sun exposure is one of the most common reasons for prematurely aging and dried out skin.

Exfoliate
The fifth step in our anti aging skin care guide is exfoliation. Our skin cells in the top epidermis layer are constantly dying off and being replaced by new ones. But if you don't get rid of the old ones, they just sit there giving your skin a dull look. Exfoliating once a week brings out the new cells and gives your skin a radiant look.

Guys do this daily when they shave so they don't have to worry much. Women need to do it.

Moisturize
No anti aging skin care guide would be complete without talking about moisturizing. With age, skin looses it's ability to retain moisture and with prolonged exposure to the elements, will often dry out. Dry skin looks dull and unhealthy and feels tight and cracked. Just drinking at least 4 cups of water a day will go along way to mitigating this. Most of us don't take in enough moisture and are chronically dehydrated. Coffee and caffeine drinks will also do that to you.

But in addition to drinking fluids, you should also consider a moisturizing treatment of some sort. Don't use a product that has anything other than natural ingredients though. Chemical moisturizers (which all the big brand name companies use because they're so cheap to produce) are almost always based on mineral oil. This draws moisture from deep in the skin to the surface so it feels moist. But it isn't adding moisture at all and over time, your skin becomes dependant on it. That is, whenever you don't have it on, it will be extremely dry.

Natural Ingredients
The final step in this anti aging skin care guide is to use only natural ingredients. There are too many ingredients in artificial products that are either zero value added for your skin, or actually bad for you. Some of the research I've done is scary (I've put a lot of it on my website). But there are also some really good natural anti aging skin care treatments out there which are based on science and backed up by clinical studies. In fact, I only use natural products and my success has been remarkable.

Does Exercise aggravate your Acne condition?

Does exercise aggravate your acne condition? Moderate exercise is actually good for your skin. It helps you maintain a healthy body and manage your stress levels, too.

If you find your acne is aggravated by regular exercise, then you may want to examine your routine. What do you wear? Where do you go? How hard do you work? Exercise-related acne is usually caused by something you put on your body rather something you do with it. Remove these outside factors, and you may put an end to your workout breakouts. Here are just a few things to watch for.

Acne and Exercise - Make-up. When exercising, wear as little make-up as possible. Even oil-free and non-comedogenic (non-pore-clogging) cosmetics can clog pores if worn during heavy exercise. When you’re done working out, wash as soon as possible.

Acne and Exercise - Sunscreen. If your regimen takes you outdoors, always wear sunscreen. While acne may improve slightly after brief periods in the sun, studies show that prolonged exposure actually promotes comedones (clogged pores) and, of course, sun damage. Some kinds of acne medication make skin more sensitive to the sun, so sunscreen is even more important. When choosing a sunscreen, look for products that are oil-free and have a protection factor of at least SPF 15 for both UVA and UVB rays. Like make-up, sunscreen can travel across the skin’s surface and lodge in the pores — so wash immediately after working out.

Acne and Exercise - Clothing. If you’re prone to body acne, avoid garments made exclusively with lycra or nylon. Why? Some synthetic fabrics can trap the heat and moisture against your skin, creating a fertile breeding ground for the bacteria that contribute to acne. For moderate exercise, your best bet is lightweight, loose-fitting cotton, or a lycra-cotton blend. Natural fabrics allow the skin to breathe, and loose garments are less likely to cause friction. If you’re exercising vigorously and working up a good sweat, however, you may want to try some of the new fabrics designed to wick moisture away from your skin.

Acne and Exercise - Equipment. Some people are more likely to get acne or have their lesions aggravated in the areas affected by sports equipment. The best defense against friction-related breakouts is a good fit — make sure your helmet doesn’t slide around on your forehead, or your wetsuit isn’t too tight under the arms. You can also curb equipment-triggered breakouts by lining your helmet with a layer of soft, washable cotton fabric; it's a great use for those old t-shirts, too. And no matter what the sport, it’s always a good idea to keep your equipment clean and dry when not in use.

Acne and Exercise - Moisture. Mom was right: You should get out of those wet clothes! No matter how you get your exercise — treadmill, trail, tennis court, or whatever — don’t sit around in your sweaty clothes or wet bathing suit when you’re done. If you can, shower off immediately and change into dry clothes before driving home. If this isn’t possible, change into dry clothes and wipe down as well as you can. When toweling sweat off your face, always use a clean towel, and blot gently rather than wipe. Vigorous wiping can irritate your skin, driving make-up and sunscreen deeper into the pores.

Acne and Exercise - Showering. Again, it’s best to shower immediately after working out. You may want to use a medicated exfoliant cleanser, but always be gentle with your skin. Scrubbing harder isn’t going to make you any cleaner, or make your acne go away — and it may actually irritate existing lesions or promote the development of new ones. If you can't shower right away, you can still curb breakouts by wiping down with medicated pads; keep a few in your gym bag just in case.

So keep up the good work! A healthy exercise program is an integral part of your overall health; and a healthy body is more likely to have healthy skin. Just keep an eye on the various factors that accompany your regimen, and try to remove the acne triggers — you’ll be on your way to breakout-free workouts.

Acne Medications- How do you choose?

There are many medical treatments for acne, although unfortunately, it can not be said that there is any one, single treatment to cure acne. Rather than having a single treatment for acne, doctors generally have to try several different products for each individual before finding the treatment or combination of treatments that will clear up the problem.

Every case of acne is different and will do different things to the skin depending on the individual. This makes acne quite a difficult condition to treat. A lot of experimentation and trial and error with various medications is usually needed before a successful treatment is found. This can be very frustrating for the person that wants a quick-fix solution to their problem or even for those individuals that have a stubborn strain of acne that takes a long time to clear up. It always helps to see a doctor or dermatologist that has plenty of experience in treating acne, this way they can draw on their professional experience. There are some absolute ‘no nos’ when it comes to dealing with acne. You should never scrub skin that is affected by acne. This irritates and inflames the acne, causing more pimples and making the healing process longer and more drawn out.

Never attempt to self-treat or self-medicate. Pimple removal is something that should always be left up to a trained doctor in an antiseptic environment. In most cases, the first treatment that a doctor will recommend is a topical cream. These creams, like all acne treatments, do not cure acne, but rather help manage the symptoms of the acne.

The treatment that you receive will depend on the type of symptoms that you are experiencing. It will either be aimed at unplugging pores, killing bacteria (antibiotics), reducing the amount of oils (such as Accutane) or altering the hormones that stimulate the sebaceous glands (such as oral contraceptives).

If topical creams alone prove ineffective, doctors will usually combine them with an oral antibiotic. The topical creams usually contain benzoyl peroxide which although effective, should be used in small doses. It was originally thought to be harmless, however studies show that prolonged use or overuse can lead to premature aging of the skin. The most important thing to remember when attempting to rid yourself of acne is to work with a trained medical professional that you trust.

Secondly, be patient. Even in the best of cases, acne does not clear up overnight. In fact, even when you have found a treatment that works, your skin will usually get worse before it gets better.

Doctors usually recommend continuing a treatment for at least four to six weeks before expecting to see results. Do not be disappointed if the first treatment that you try does not work. Expect to try several different treatments before finally finding success. For more information visit: Acnezine

Is there a Natural Acne Cure that Works?

Are you feeling frustrated about your acne condition? Have you tried many types of acne treatment but the spot never seems to lessen? I have always wonder if there are natural ways for acne cure. I have tried creams and lotions but sometimes they aggravate my skin condition causing the area surrounding the acne to become dry. I have also spend hundred of dollars on facial treatment, it did help but the cost is high.

Came across this article about natural acne cure. The article definitely give me a good perspective of what could be the cause of my acne problem, why hasn't the spot lessen and how I can take control of my acne problem.

Acne Cures: Is there a Natural Acne Cure that Works?

Are there natural acne cures that work or is it a new age myth? Is there a permanent cure for acne or are all acne sufferers sentenced to the Sisyphean battle of tackling the ‘on the surface’ symptoms? Is there an honest, natural and safer alternative to the endless use of over the counters and to the nasty side effects inflicted by conventional drugs, creams and topical acne treatments?

Most dermatologists and other western medicine followers have already answered that controversial question by claiming that acne, among other diseases simply cannot be cured.

There are 2 reasons for that:

1. Most dermatologists don't even know what the real cause of acne is. It's amazing but true. They are highly familiar with the symptoms of acne and they specialize in tackling the 'on the surface' symptoms, but unfortunately they cannot tell you what the internal conditions are that cause your acne to form in the first place. If you don't believe me just ask your dermatologist.

2. Most doctors work in conjunction with the pharmaceutical and drug companies and the latter is not motivated, so to speak, at discovering a cure for Acne or Aids or Cancer - simply because hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent on finding treatments for the symptoms of diseases. Why? simply because their global aim is to make more profit by creating consumer dependency. By applying medications and creams that deal merely with the symptoms while ignoring the source or the internal cause of the disease, acne will never be cured. The average acne sufferer will become more and more reliant on drugs that temporarily calm the symptoms and that means steady income for the drug and pharmaceutical companies.

There's a lovely metaphor describing acne among other chronic diseases and the way modern medicine deals with these afflictions: If you manage to kill all the mosquitoes around a stale pond using chemicals, for a little while there will be no mosquitoes.

But since the source of the problem (what causes the mosquitoes to appear) is still there – the stale, disgusting pond where mosquitoes can find food and fertile ground for laying their eggs – mosquitoes will always come back!

The same thing happens with your acne!

Without eliminating the source of your acne condition, you will never get rid of your acne. Without fixing the internal problem that is causing your acne, you may find temporary relief, but your acne will always come back until you do something fundamental to eradicate the cause from within...until you make the pond (your body or internal system) a place where ‘mosquitoes’ cannot exist.

Ultimately, every disease results from a breakdown within your body. All major diseases and chronic conditions are warning signs of something very fundamentally wrong inside. Deepak Chopra refers to this as "The violation of simple laws of nature that make our body function."

The very surprising truth is that you are lucky for having acne. Let me explain...Acne, like constant headaches, irritable bowel syndrome or dandruffs is only a small message from your body that something is wrong internally and should be addressed and corrected.

Now, there are two choices you can make - you can:

1.Ignore that message - big mistake! The internal imbalance that caused your acne will, in most cases, turn into a chronic condition. Now instead of just having acne you'll start having other hormonal imbalance or toxic overload related symptoms in addition to acne. Because the internal problem is not fixed, the disease symptoms get more and more intense.

2.Listen to your body and start fixing the internal problem that causes your acne to appear in the first place; you will not only get rid of your acne you will also achieve beautiful, healthy, even toned clear skin complexion, re-balance your body and prevent future hormonal or toxic overload related conditions.

The simple truth is...you are out of balance. We now live a 'far-from-natural' lifestyle. There are over 300 synthetic industrial chemicals present in our bodies that did not exist 50 years ago. We are filled with toxins from the food, and medication we ingest and use.

By fixing the internal condition that causes your acne in addition to adopting a healthy lifestyle (healthy diet & mindset, cleanse & detoxify, hormonal balancing etc.) you will put your body back into balance – holistically - your acne will cease to exist and you feel as healthy and attractive as ever!

It doesn't matter what type of acne you have. Whether you suffer from: acne vulgaris, acne Conglobata, acne Rosacea, Acne Fulminans, Blackheads, Whiteheads, Papules, Pustules, Nodules or Cysts: The principles required to cure your acne are basically the same. The "holistic" ways of treating people have been around for thousands of years, and they absolutely work whether you have teen or adult acne; whether you suffer from acne on your back, shoulders or chest or if you suffer from female related acne such as menopause acne or acne due to monthly cycles.

Whatever your acne condition is, when you finally decide to stop making the same acne treatment mistakes that have been holding you back and begin applying the holistic approach to curing acne, you can literally choose to become clear and stay clear. You will have the power to make it happen.
