The Seven Step Anti aging Skin Care Guide

Someone once told me that wouldn't be great if there is a way to switch off our aging gene. I believe many of us aren't afraid of growing old, afterall, there are many advantages to growing old. You have gain more experience about life, you feel more assured about yourself. Perhaps what most of us are afraid is the effect of aging. The aches, pains and illnesses that crept quietly and increasingly upon us especially after 40.

One obvious signs of aging is our skin. The largest organ in our body often show signs of the aging process and it is even more prevalent when we consistently overwork our body.

I found this interesting and informative article on anti aging skin care. I agree with the author that we can slow down the aging process with proper diet, exercise and sufficient rest. Couple with natural supplements such as Reseveratrol ( a powerful antioxidant found in grapes and berries), anti aging can be enhanced as it will help slow down aging and repair aging cells in our body.

We all age. But some of us do it better than others. While some people who "never grow old" are blessed with skin that just doesn't age, most of them enjoy the younger look because they take care of themselves. Here's a quick anti aging skin care guide.

Sleep
Get enough of it. We now know there is a direct link between sleep deprivation and prematurely aging skin. If you got at least 7 hours every night, the puffiness under your eyes would significantly reduce and wrinkle lines would recede.

Eat properly
An obvious step in any anti aging skin care guide but nevertheless, it never ceases to amaze at how many people don't make the connection between healthy skin and good diet. Avoid junk with high sugar and high oil content. Go after foods with lots of antioxidants like fruits (especially berries) and raw vegetables. Free radicals are a normal biological process but with age this process increases which damages skin cells. Antioxidants fight free radicals. Eat properly and damaged skin will repair itself.

Heard about the powerful antioxidant called Reseveratrol ? It is found in grapes and berries.Resveratrol is known to slow down the aging process and help repair aging cells in our body.

Exercise
One of the benefits of exercise is that it gets the blood flowing through your veins. Including your face. Our skin capillaries actually contract and clog with age. Exercise increases blood flow and causes capillaries to dilate. More blood means the body can bring more essential nutrients to all layers of your skin.

Sun
Moderation is the key. Sun is good because it allows us to naturally absorb vitamin D. But it's also bad because it causes skin damage. The key is balance - but prolonged sun tanning or facial exposure isn't balance. Don't stay in the shade, but use sun screen. Excessive sun exposure is one of the most common reasons for prematurely aging and dried out skin.

Exfoliate
The fifth step in our anti aging skin care guide is exfoliation. Our skin cells in the top epidermis layer are constantly dying off and being replaced by new ones. But if you don't get rid of the old ones, they just sit there giving your skin a dull look. Exfoliating once a week brings out the new cells and gives your skin a radiant look.

Guys do this daily when they shave so they don't have to worry much. Women need to do it.

Moisturize
No anti aging skin care guide would be complete without talking about moisturizing. With age, skin looses it's ability to retain moisture and with prolonged exposure to the elements, will often dry out. Dry skin looks dull and unhealthy and feels tight and cracked. Just drinking at least 4 cups of water a day will go along way to mitigating this. Most of us don't take in enough moisture and are chronically dehydrated. Coffee and caffeine drinks will also do that to you.

But in addition to drinking fluids, you should also consider a moisturizing treatment of some sort. Don't use a product that has anything other than natural ingredients though. Chemical moisturizers (which all the big brand name companies use because they're so cheap to produce) are almost always based on mineral oil. This draws moisture from deep in the skin to the surface so it feels moist. But it isn't adding moisture at all and over time, your skin becomes dependant on it. That is, whenever you don't have it on, it will be extremely dry.

Natural Ingredients
The final step in this anti aging skin care guide is to use only natural ingredients. There are too many ingredients in artificial products that are either zero value added for your skin, or actually bad for you. Some of the research I've done is scary (I've put a lot of it on my website). But there are also some really good natural anti aging skin care treatments out there which are based on science and backed up by clinical studies. In fact, I only use natural products and my success has been remarkable.
